The linking thing reads like the writer is talking about the cash manager overdraft feature. This is something someone has to set up and what it does is pull money (only from the core position and other money market funds) out of a brokerage account to cover debits in the cash management account.

Thanks for the reply. Another odd thing listed in the wiki, citing the thread comparing Schwab and Fidelity, is that sometimes the CMA debit card may not work late at night (eastern time), which could hypothetically pose a problem when travelling abroad and that moment turns out to actually be the middle of the day. This claim is based on a link to a reddit thread, but I see a hardly anybody claiming that this has really happened to them. I'm also wondering if this is a real issue.
