You can't explain it in your own words??May I suggest you watch Rob Berger's video in the OP and let me know if that doesn't answer your questions?If you hold something like VT, you don't need to rebalance -- it's always at market weight.The chart in the OP shows fairly significant difference in annual returns, +41.3% for REITs vs. -2.2% for EM in 2021 for example. A calendar rebalance or a three fund portfolio would be less likely to benefit from that discrepancy. Plus I've been monitoring a mock portfolio almost daily for 3 years observing the daily, weekly, monthly ebb and flow of the various ETFs.
Is your objective to deviate from market weight?
If so, what allocation are you rebalancing to?
