Investing - Theory, News & General • 85% of my bonds in Muni's. 15% in BND. Is too much Muni's bad?

Probably depends on your tax situation. I am in the top Federal and California tax brackets, and have nearly my entire bond portfolio (40% of total investments) in Ca munis at this point, either directly purchased bonds or Ca muni bond fund FSPXX.

Yes muni's (can) have higher risk, but that in my view small incremental risk is, currently, vastly outweighed by the roughly 5% double tax free income.
FSPXX's current yield is 2.78%...
Tax equivalent yield is 6.04%...
