Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Critique my ChubbyFIRE plan

Yes I do think there is an underserved niche of higher earners in tech wanting a second opinion on their FIRE plans, just as I am doing here. While they can certainly post on here or Reddit, some fraction of them may want to pay a CFP for peace of mind. All the better if the CFP has walked in their shoes.

That’s my thesis at least. We’ll see if it pans out.
A former tech coworker that I served on my employer's 401k investment committee did exactly this. His planning business now has two employees besides himself, so he must be doing OK.

Another tech coworker got laid off and started a financial coaching business. A year later, he started tech consulting and a year after that took a full time tech job again.

So, ultimately YMMV.

You say your wife is content to watch TV, but I find it hard to believe someone with the drive to get to a $450k income will last very long sitting on the couch. How did her maternity leaves go? My wife (similar career) was climbing the walls to get back to work by the end of hers, and that's with a new baby to focus on. With nothing, I'd give her two weeks.
