If the FED lowers interest rates overnight by 5%, you will have bigger fish to fry. (Yes, of course being locked into a CD will let you keep a higher rater for longer. But what else would have happened, a halving of your stock portfolio perhaps?)How volatile is the interest rate on the money market? Like, the "fed" makes an announcement and the next day rates go back to <1 percent? Or does it usually happen gradually?
