Consider where you place the aquarium from a leak standpoint. It’s not a matter of if it will leak, but when. Think 50 gallons of water and what sort of damage it may cause. It’s happened to me twice, and damage in my case was minimal, but still messy to deal with cleaning up and drying flooring, carpets, etc.

I enjoyed this hobby when younger, but gave it up to the eventual leak issue.
I have kept fish and tanks for years. Never had any leak issues. My largest one was a 180gallon and although I would not recommend a glass tank at that size, that too had no trouble. Keeping it perfectly level and being super careful with deco. (rocks) is the key. But it is not at all the case that they always will leak.
