Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Joining a "non-profit" board, what are the cons?

In today's day and age it seems there are more cons than pros with getting on any board! Really sad!

Drama, liability, and time suck all come to mind as cons.

Of course! Much easier to complain than to actually do something to help.
Many of amongst the "complainers" are the ones actually doing something to help. It's how we become aware of the flaws that we complain about.
ETA: And lots of people think they're "helping" when they point out everything wrong.
The strength of an idea is revealed under the harsh light of critical thought and critique.
