I've never really considered I'm coming out ahead under the guise marketing that it's gaming the system. IE...I kind of always thought these rewards programs as a loss leader race to the bottom in the hopes of eventually garnering "25% or whatever it is" interest from some low percentage of the target pool eligible for that card.
