Have you read much on bogleheads about the concept of safe withdrawal rate? The gist is that you just keep your same asset allocation (somewhere in the 40/60 to 60/40 range for retirement(?)) and just live off 4%.As per the title, what’s the general wisdom on finding a for fee tax advisor for a one off consultation?
I’d like to get some professional input on the most tax efficient approach on converting our portfolio into cash flow in retirement. We are both 50 and my time horizon to retire is currently 4 years, maybe 5 if we add one more to pay for home improvements prior to calling it quits.
I’ve been very focused on growing our portfolio but have not spent a lot of time thinking about actually living off it.
To be clear, you DO NOT convert your portfolio into cash flow for retirement. Keep your AA the same. Just sell 4% per year to live on.
I hope that helps.
