Great! Glad it will work out. SI is simpler to use and has better support but IB might have a little better exchange rate if you need to move your cash into USD to invest. I wonder if the first Schwab response you received was from a former TD Ameritrade staff unfamiliar with Schwab International.
That is a good question, but, alas, I don't know the answer. I did notice in the past 2-3 years that I have to call and ask questions 2-3 times before I get a...how to put it...a person who seems to know what they are talking about. It was like that today as well, finally someone explained to me how the forms work and that they don't need to give me a W-9 because they already have my TIN, what with the account being open while I am an USA resident.

And agreed on Schwab, they are pretty simple to use and I would prefer to continue using them, especially if I can continue trading.
I don't know anything about Serbian taxes but found TurboTax to be pretty good at helping out for the US side. I like the downloaded version as you can do multiple versions - FEIE vs foreign tax credit.
Serbian taxes are mostly manual affair, I'm afraid. :( But, it is good to know that TT can help with the US ones. For my case it will be relatively simple (few accounts for paycheck and non-Serbian currency, and then the brokerage stuff), so I don't expect huge amount of taxes to be paid. But, just the sheer amount of work and gotchas and traps you need to watch for is astounding.
