Personal Finance (Not Investing) • [Impacted by] pro-rata rule when doing backdoor-Roth a few months ago, any possibility to reverse it?

As I said before, the damage was done by the Fidelity agents badgering them to rollover their 401k into a Fidelity IRA without disclosing the potential consequences. If true that this was unsolicited, then the agents were working for their own benefit, not the client's benefit.
I agree that the repeated suggestion to "simplify" the account situation was the cause, I also would be that Fidelity agents making that suggestion also suggested the OP review with his tax adviser any tax consequences he was concerned about. That is they told him to talk to his tax advisor before proceeding.
