That's terrific -- when the responsibilities are distributed among many. Aside from her grandparents in their 80s we don't really have the same long-term extended family support except for my closest relatives who all live in Europe; however it is likely that she will get significant inheritances from her grandparents, which I don't factor into my thinking because there's nothing certain about it (not that there's any certainty about anything!) And very close friends (and their kids) in finance who can serve as trustees.hcs77135,
When you are 60 and you have a 13 year old who could outlive you by 50+ years and may need income for the rest of her life i think it’s a very different analysis than if you feel you can spend down your assets.
Thank you.
50% of male kids of my family and my in-law family are autistic to the various degrees. So, unfortunately, we are well aware of this issue within my extended family. But, in my culture, extended family help out each other and there are many self made millionaires within the family. So, the supporting resources are greater.
