With a 4% SWR and paying 1.6%, you are giving away 40%.

It’s critical in my opinion for the OP to understand this and to figure out how to articulate it to their spouse. 1.6% might seem small, but it is so huge that it is almost unimaginable how large the impact will be.

I am still working and there is no way I’d take a 40% pay cut. No way. 40%!!!
