At least for your taxable account(s) Is this not exactly what your 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, and 1099-B show you? A bonus is that the 1099-DIV will show you Foreign Taxes Paid which I don't think shows up anywhere else including your statements. Indeed, your activity will have dividends lower by the amount of the Foreign Taxes Paid which often messes clients up when they find out they got more dividends than Vanguard told them about and have to pay more taxes on those more dividends. All of our Vanguard accounts - taxable & IRA - are in brokerage accounts. [...] But good grief, how difficult would it be for Vanguard to display not only each month's activity, but the sun of each type of activity - dividends, st gains, lt gains - for the year?
Does anyone know how to get the information I want?
When I go to https://statements.web.vanguard.com/ I can make a full-year statement that shows "dividends, st gains, lt gains - for the year." Does that not work for you?
