The XR13 can no longer be installed in Connecticut, where the minimum SEER is now 14.What I am looking for today is to get a XR13 (basic single stage A/C) + Thermo Pride Oil furnace and move on.
I welcome boglehead members who have installed XR13 or/and Thermo Pride oil furnace in the last 1 year to comment on their experiences.
You should install an XR15 heat pump because it costs less than the XR15 air conditioner. I don't know why you keep asking about air conditioners when there's a $2,000 tax credit for heat pumps. Just buy the same unit that you have already selected in the first post, but buy the heat pump version.
